Muslim's Invention

My Story

I was born in the countryside on a tropical island called Haiti located in Western Hemisphere. However, Haiti is one the poorest country around the globe where people live with 100 dollars per capital. Due to poverty, many people are not able to reach their educational goal because their parents do not have the opportunity to pay tuition for their children to continue their primary or secondary education. Many Haitian students would like to fulfill their dreams; unfortunately, they have to let go on their education because they are crippled financially for free public education is only available to wealthy people who have their families and friends working in the system that makes it trouble-free for rich students to obtain public school in twisting the system while poor students always fail to get accepted in public school because they do not have any sponsors to favor them to get in public school system. For example, my father did not have the opportunity to attend high school, and my mother never had a chance to go to school.
Sadly, after my dad graduated from grammar school he was desperately wanted to go to School, but unfortunately his parents could not afford to pay for him. In addition, all the High Schools were located in the main cities of the capital of Haiti, which was impossible for his parents to have enough money to rent a room for him to stay and provided with food weekly, which was way beyond his parents’ ability. Therefore, my dad had to work in the farm with his father at the age of thirteen years old to make a living and helped raising other siblings. On the hand, my mother started working in the field with her father and mother at the age of seven years old, because she never went to school. Since my mom never had been gone too school, she was humiliated and struggled very hard to make sure that her children receive an education so that we do not have to have an unfortunate experience like she had. I truly honor my mother as someone who does not know how to read and write and understands the value of her children’s education. She persistently encourages us to go to school and she always says to us that education is the key of success in life. My mom’s word of wisdom helps me develop a great passion to crave for education because I do not want to let the opportunity pass me by like my parents.
One of my parents concerns were what they were going to do in order to secure our education, while the living condition in Haiti became worse and worse than ever before. My dad’s resolution was to live the country to seek a better life that he wanted us to have; however, he did not exactly have any destination besides living my mom and three young boys behind with no financial supports. Moreover, we did not hear from him after three months he confirmed to us that he landed in the American soil by boat after risking his life for his children’s future. My father explained to us that he had to risk his life to enter in America to have a better life for us, so that we did not have to face the challenges he had faced in life while growing up. The reason my dad took a risk to come in America by a small boat was to bring us to America to smell the freshness of life and embrace the opportunity he did not have when he was growing up, because it is well known that the opportunity knocks at people’s door only once; therefore, I have to embrace the privilege that I have today to receive a formal education that I am striving for.
Two years ago, my dad brought us to America with him to fulfill the dream he always wanted for us. Two weeks later after we entered to America, I started high school in my sophomore year without knowing a word in English. That has been one of the most challenging obstacles I have not ever faced entire the whole life while sitting a class where all the instructions have been giving in a foreign language, which I have never been exposed to before. I felt that I was truly lost with no hope of being able to communicate in English. In the course of my journey I formally use this equation: Patience plus perseverance equal success. Having a positive frame of mind helps me to overcome the language barrier; in addition to this, I have received a lot helps from my English teachers and I now can say that my English is improving better and better each day and then keep working on it to make more effective. This is evidence of my dedication to achieve greatness in my life after high school.
Since, I was ten years old my dream was to become a civil engineer that is going to cost a lot of money to fulfill inspirational dream. I understand that it may beyond my capacity to achieve the dream that I am dying for due to financial instability. As far as I know, America is the land of opportunity for whoever wants to make their dreams come; therefore, I ask to request the board of committee to grant me the scholarship to help me accomplish my educational goal. Frankly, without having a scholarship my inspirational dream might not be a reality, because my father does not have money to pay for college tuition. Although I have financial problems, I still have the strength and strong determination to not let anything obstacles to come in my way to stop or destroy my vision from becoming a civil engineer. In order to achieve this goal I must attend Florida Golf Cost University. Receiving this scholarship will mean everything to me because it is going to take me a big step closer to accomplish my dream; furthermore, the scholarship will help me overcome financial burdens and fears.
It is well-known that to have a formal education is important for each and every person on this planet; due to living in this competitive world I realize that education is the key of success to open many doors for young people like me to receive a good education. However, it is hard for majority of people like me to make their dreams come true because of the economic complicated; therefore, I would like to let the Selection Committee to understand that it is very important to me to receive this scholarship to help continue my undergraduate study. Also this scholarship will be used wisely for my undergraduate study. For instance, receiving this scholarship will motive me to focus on the career that my heart desires and enable me to give back more than what I have received. As everyone knows that it is hard for African-American students who are struggling to achieve their educational goals, I am glad that there are numerous means out there to help me reach the goal that I always to want to have.
Since education is the way to go to help young people like to success in life, I must supplicate the Selection Committee to take my application into consideration because receiving this scholarship means everything to me for it will give more confidence to pursue my undergraduate study. In addition, receiving this scholarship will help me acquire necessary skills I need to assure my future because if I do not have a good education it would hard for me to be happy in life. Due to financial trouble, it is impossible to for me to complete my undergraduate study. As a result, without having a good education I will not be able to contribute anything to society if I do not receive this scholarship to help me continue my education that is my only hope of success.
In addition, receiving this scholarship will help obtain a formal education that will assist becoming more independent and recognize how to facilitate others by creating new ways to empower them make positive changes into their lives. In fact, it is important for Selection Committee to recognize that receiving this scholarship will empower me to maintain the human values that contribute to society. Furthermore, I would like to let Selection Committee know that this scholarship will be useful to me because they know that for sure education has great influence on young people like me for it is the starting point and establishment for success whether people believe that or not.
I assure the Selection Committee that giving this scholarship is not going to be a waste, because it is going to help me accomplish my purpose in life, which is to have a positive impact influence on others and help people in needs: The homeless, poor, immigrant people, and others who are suffering around the world. Receiving this scholarship will truly help me impact others lives by helping them making the right choices in their lives in encouraging young people to stay in school to get their education, because having an education is the only way to banish poverty in the world.
Finally, I am so thankful that are many public and private institutions in the United States of America that offer free scholarship for students to pursue their career and make their dreams come true. As far as I know, it would hard for some young people like me to achieve their goal if they did not receive free scholarship. Because of the opportunity of free scholarship, many young people receive their education and have more to offer to society; as a result, America becomes the greatest country around the globe. In addition, I thank God, my family, teachers, counselors, church members, and other who encourage and support me to keep climbing the ladder of success.
